 Native American artifacts

QR010

These authentic Native American tools, ornaments, weapons, and items from daily life are part of the collection of Miamisburg resident John Warrington. He has spent over 30 years assembling items made of stone, bone, shell, iron and copper dating from the Paleo era (20,000 to 8,000 BC), Archaic era (8,000 to 2000 BC), Woodland era (1,000 BC to 500 AD) and Fort Ancient era (550 to 1650 AD). Many are attributed to the Adena/Hopewell cultures which occupied this part of Ohio and were responsible for the construction of the Miamisburg Mound, located less than a mile from this museum.
